laparoscopy post-op pain... dr's thoughts (and any others) welcome...From: aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 10 Jan 2003 11:53:34 -0600 (CST)
hi, i'm 20 years old, and about 2 months ago, i had laparoscopy to remove endometrial lesions from my right ovary, and the doctor made 2 incisions- one at the navel, and one around the area of my cervix. during the "blind push" into the lower incision, he nicked the uterus, and cauterized it before moving on. all has been well since, but then last night i experienced a stabbing pain around the area of the lower incision, and a bit lower, more toward the vaginal canal. it was intensified when i moved, but only lasted about 5 minutes, then disappeared. what could this be? i know sometimes cords of scar tissue can form near the incisions and need to be cut; could this be what it is? what else COULD it be? just the healing of the cauterization? even something off-the-wall, like pregnancy? advice is appreciated. thanks!
