Help! ovarian cystFrom: Jean (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Dec 2002 11:26:55 -0600 (CST)
I'm 29 yrs old and have an ovarian cyst at right ovary. I had two pelvic ultrasound tests on 8/16/02 and 10/28. The fist test found: 5 x 4 x 5cm cystic mass with thin internal septations in the right adnexa. There is no soft tissue component in the mass. The walls of the mass are thin. There is no abnormal fluid collection in the posterior cul-de-sac. 2nd test showed that cyst decresed very slightly in size to 5 x 3.5 x 5cm, and ovary was invisible. My ob/gyn suggested that I wait for another ultrasound testing. I recently sought 2nd opinion, and new ob/gyn first advised for surgery but then changed her mind that I get one more ultrasound. Recently, my already bloated stomach got even more bloated to the extent that I can't fit in my pants. Should I insist on surgery or is it really okay to wait further?
