it seem that pills were ineffective this cycle and accordingly you you should have waited for a period to come and start a new pack,with the first day of bleeding in which case no need for back-up.pregnancy rate is in the normal range of 25%per cycle.howevere,it could be much lower for you due to irregular action of pills on the endometrium with hormonal disturbances.check blood test after 6th.january.
