I was told by my doctor that I have a bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection. She prescribed Clotrimazole USP 1% to treat the yeast and Metronidazole 500mg for the BV. This is my first infection and I am in pain, frustated and scared of the side effects of the Metro. Do I have to take medicines for both conditions at the same time? Could I substitute the metronidazole with something else like a cream for example? What can I do to avoid this infections from happening again? Please help!! :(
