normal pap smear!From: Shelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Dec 2002 13:26:10 -0600 (CST)
I have had abnormal pap smears for 9 years. Either I had inflammation or atypical cells. For the past 6 months my husband and I have been using condoms since I went off the bcp. I have been having pap smears done faithfully every 6 months and also had 2 coloscopys done which revealed chronic cervicitis. Last week I had a pap smear which came back normal. I am so thrilled with this news. Is it a possibility that the condoms played a role in this? If so, why? Could I have some reaction to my husbands sperm? Could this be why so many women have pap smears come back with inflammation? Just curious.
