consistant precancerous cells ? or HISTERECTOMY?????From: quadera (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 12 Dec 2002 21:31:34 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I was diagnosed with HPV when I was 16. I am now going onto 27. Through the years I have always had abnormal cells show up in my pap smears. I have had different procedures done to get rid of them. The only time I didn't have abnormal cells is when I was pregnant. I am now being faced with the worst case yet for me. My doctor told me they have to go in and take some of my cervix out. I have already had my tubes tied and I am not worried about having any more children, I worry about having to go through this for the rest of my life. I asked my doctor what would be best for me the partial cervix removal or a hysterectomy. He stated that with me not wanting any more children it would seem best to get a histerectomy. But of course talking it over with my family, they had many questions ones that I never thought of. And I don't have much time to think about it. For instance what happens to my insides, osteoperosis, hormone replacement. Are there any other procedures that can be done. And what is the percentage of people that still get it when they have a histerectomy done. Is it worth it?
