'Low Risk' HPV and carcinoma in-situFrom: Lissi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Dec 2002 13:43:37 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I was recently tested for HPV and found out I only carry "low risk" types. I have a history of CIN 3 and I have battled VIN 3 for three years. I recently found out it has now spread to the perianal area. Can low risk strains cause all these problems? I'm having trouble comprehending this, it goes against all that I have read. Also, can you have low risk HPV on one area of the body and "high risk" on another? If so, could I in fact carry "high risk" HPV, but because of the area it was taken from it not show? The sample was from the vagina, which has never shown any cellular changes. Thank You.
-- Thank you, Lissi
