CIN3 and 8 weeks pregnant

Hi there

I have just received the result of a smear which was taken a couple of days before I conceived. It is now CIN3 having been BNA 7 months ago. I am booked in for a colposcopy in 2 weeks time but need some answers before I go re possible treatment.

I live in Ireland, and have been told that I will not be treated because I am pregnant. They even tell me that they will not do a biopsy during colposcopy because it is too risky for the baby. Is this the case? Do they mean cone biopsy or a much smaller one? I need to know whether this is standard practice world wide or whether it is perculiar to Irish hospitals with their Catholic ethos.

I am particularly worried because the cell changes seem to have been very rapid and am also worried whether the pregnancy hormones might continue to accelerate the changes. Is there a risk that the cell changes could continue at this rate and I could have CIS / invasive carcinoma within a year?

What I really want to find is someone who will take my colposcopy results and give me the facts i.e. risks to me if I am not treated while prengant and risks to the baby if I am. I am not sure whether I will get an unbiased answer in Ireland.

Thank you. I haven't been able to find a professional who will talk to me about this.
