Empahically yes--unless you will positively abstain from sex for the duration of your treatment and for the required amount of months afterward (it is at least 3 months afterward and may be 6 months--since the treatment takes 5-6 months--that means almost a year of abstinence). Becoming pregnant on Accutane produces severe birth defects. It has been several years since I took it, but it may now even be required for a female of reproductive potential (I had had a hysterectomy prior to taking accutane so I was not required to take birth control)to be on birth control to recieve a prescription for Accutane. Your dermatologist faces stringent requirements in prescribing it. The requirement is serious as are the consequences of becomming pregnant on Accutane. Incidentally, taking accutane is no picnic--the side effects are nasty. Good luck.
