Very bad ovulation pain x 2 months, on one side only....From: Jenn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Nov 2002 12:52:17 -0600 (CST)
Hi. Infection has been ruled out, and it has only happened since my first post partum menstrual cycle returned. I am breastfeeding and my first PP cycle just happened ths month (16 months since delivery), but 14 days before it came, I was at the doctors office getting tested for infections, ectopic pregnany etc. When I was examined, I nearly shot off the table in pain, so I was treated with antibiotics just for good measure. Nothing came back abnormal on my tests though. My doctor told me it was ovulation pain. This makes sense, as I have an increase in cervical mucous and sexual desire at the same time. But the pain is so bad, it hurts to sit down because of the pressure on bending at the waist. It hurts worse than my menstrual cramps and it has been on the same side two months in a row. It is also relieved by passing gas, a stool, or urine - but only temporarily. If it was normal ovulation pain, wouldn't it alternate sides? Thanks in advance!
