So is the one year standard. In asymptomatic, low risk women, the fear, in this era of lawsuits, is that one may encounter a disease encouraging process like HPV, become high risk, then sue the doctors if something "could have been caught earlier". The chances are still quite low that will happen, but the doctor may feel that is too much of a gamble to take with their livelihoods. As Dennis Miller says; Just my opinion, I could be wrong. AA
