Re: DISCHARGE OR INFECTIONFrom: John Essien MD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Nov 2002 07:07:09 -0600 (CST)
I'd suggest you do as your doctor requested. No way of determining if it's just drainage or discharge from infection unless your are examined.

Now after a little over a week after the surgery now the drainage has changed colors and is now a brownish/yellowish/greenish color that has me concerned. Three days ago (which was Nov.26) I contacted the dr. and she wanted me to go to the ER for the dr. on call for her to check me but mind you this was the day before Thanksgiving and I didn't have a way there because my husband was working and my mother-n-law who was staying with us during this time had gone to pick my children up from school. Should I have went or will I be safe waiting to go this coming Tues.(Dec.3)??? Could this be a major infection or just drainage??? In the hosp. the dr. had to give me a vaginal pack, is it possible that she left some of the pack inside and that is what is causeing the discolored drainage??? Many questions and looking for answers FAST 'cause I have lost lots of sleep and experienced much pain in my abdomen and lower back area. Please respond with some kind of info. that will ease my mind and worries.
