hello it's been 3 weeks since my LAVH post op day 1 my indwelling catheter was removed. a few hours later i began having extreme pain, i was voiding frequently moderate amounts 300 cc or so and the nurse did a PVR and it was 700cc. my catheter was left in. I have had 2 unsucessful attemts to remove catheter, I am unable to empyt and have very decreases sensation of bladder fullness. Prior to surgery I had no problems. I was instructed on self cathing and attemted for 24 hours and was having spapsm in my urethea so bad that I was unable to empty my bladder. I had to go to the ER and an Indwelling cath inserted again. i had output of 2000cc and overnight another 2 liters. I need help and advice. I ama 33 year old professional woman who now is unable to function the cath causes unbelieve pain and I can not work with it in. to make matters even worse I live on isolated in Alaska. The reason for my LAVH was DUB and pelvic pain any advice much appreciated thank you--kim
