Painful joints after ZoladexFrom: Catherine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Nov 2002 18:01:58 -0600 (CST)
I've had endo for about 12 years. Went into a drug trial for Zoladex with HRT in April and had first injection then. I've had Zoladex about 6 years ago as well, and all fine then! So everything was fine. Had second injection in June, and about 10 days later started to get bizarre symptoms. My wrist joints swelled in both hands, and became very painful. My hands became hypersensitive and the only real relief was to run cold water over them. Anyway, the symptoms lasted about 10 weeks and finally went. Life returned to normal, i came out of the drug trial and have now been booked in for a hysterectomy next April. Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, i noticed the same symptoms in my hands, and now the pain is back, just as bad. My hands are burning, my wrist joints are so sore to touch and i am in a lot of pain. I'm finding it difficult to make fists with both hands., my fingers are painful and it really hurts!!! My periods haven't yet returned. But my question is, please can anyone tell me if this is likely to be a reaction to the zoladex, as was originally thought, and how long does it stay in my system for...am i always going to get this pain in both hands????? Help, i'm desperate for information, so anything will be greatly received! Thanks Catherine
