vaginal pain and protruding tissueFrom: Selena (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Nov 2002 21:14:41 -0600
I have been having pelvic pain mainly on my left ovarian area and uterine area for a few years now. Also I can't have sex with my husband b/c it has become tight and it gets extremely irritated deep inside after a few seconds. I have some tissue that is poking out also, I can't even see a hole anymore. This has been there for several months. I have been to the gyno and had an intravaginal ultrasound done and they didn't find anything. She said my uterus was extremely tilted, she said it was hard to get a good picture b/c of it. They went ahead and diagnosed me with endometriosis and gave me a progestin to see if it helps. Well I took it 2 weeks and stopped b/c it was making me feel awful. Anyway my question is they didn't say anything about the skin coming out and they didn't even really try to figure out what was causing the sex irritation. So what I'm wondering is could the skin coming out be a uterine prolapse? If it is could this cause the sex pain? Also could it cause the pelvic pain I've been experiencing in my uterus and ovary? Or would they have told me that from the ultrasound? I'm very frustrated and my only option left is a laprascopy which I don't want to have. I would greatly appreciate an opinion.
