Lapidus M.D.: "Re: Scared my period is too long" My usual period lasts around 5 days. My past 3 periods have lasted 14-15 days all of a sudden. In my second month of irregular period length I contacted my doctor and he has now switched my birth control pills from Trivora to Ortho Tri-Cyclen hoping this will help. I am in my first month of taking these the new Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I hoped this would work, but Im am going on my 13th day of my period. Should I give these pills another month to help me out? Im not sure how long it takes to see a difference. Or do you think I may have a more serious problem? Any advice is so appreciated!
