sleeping pills/insomnia/late period ???From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 20 Nov 2002 08:44:03 -0600 (CST)
Sorry this is long- I am 24 yrs old and was on the pill for a year, i stopped the pill in july and have had normal cycles since then. For the past month and a half I have had insomnia (i have no idea why because i'm not very stressed out about anything). My dr. perscribed me sonata-took it a couple nights but it didn't work that well, then she perscribed ambien- same think took it a couple nights but didn't work very well. After trying both of these she perscribed me elavil (antideppresat) i don't think i'm deppresesd and she doesn't either but she said it has a sedating effect- i took that for a couple of nights also na it has helped. So here's my problem my period is 5 days late. I typically have 31-32 day cycle. I took a hpt on the 35 day and it was negative. Also, i ALWAYS use condoms and foam everytime me and my boyfriend have sex. Could all of the medications and the lack of sleep for a month cause my period to be late. I'm planning on testing again in a few days. But any insite on this would be appreciated. Thanks
