Re: RECTAL ENDOMETRIOSISFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Nov 2002 00:18:22 -0800 (PST)
Tricia, Endo on the bowel/rectum can't be seen with a colonoscopy or any of the other procedures that they do for testing for other conditions of the colon and rectum. The reason why not is b/c the Endo grows on the outside. I'm having issues myself right now with Endo sitting around my rectum (at least close to it). Talk to your gyn about this as well. Endo can indeed cause inflammation but for it to affect the inside it would take a lot of work for that to happen b/c it would have to eat thru a lot of layers. Feel free to e-mail me directly on a private basis if you have more questions for me. Take care, ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html I am a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences.
