Bronchitis can interfere with oxygenation at the time of anesthesia. Yes you could ask for an epidural, that's the alternative to the general anesthesia. The most important risk for the baby is larynx papillomatosis. intrapartum transmission depends on the site and grade of the infection. I think you shouldn't worry about.
