pill v. hep c

I have been on the pill in various forms since a teenager. As a mid-40s non-smoker with excellent cholesterol levels, I consider it beneficial to my health (protects against ovarian cancers, osteoporosis, perimenopause..). However, I was just diagnosed with Hep C, so I must weigh the pill's benefits against the "possible" harmful effects on my liver. I am having a hard time with this decision. (I also had much difficulty trying a diaphragm.) Any ideas?
