Lynn, I'm sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage 8 years ago. After spotting & cramping, an ultrasound showed no heartbeat. My doctor told me he was so booked up that day that he would not be able to do the D&C until Monday morning. Turns out he wanted me to pass it naturally, which I did on Sunday night. It was traumatic, but I was glad to avoid the anethesia necessary for the procedure. Once your body does expel it, you will need to be checked to make sure nothing is left in your uterus. I went on to have 3 healthy girls within the next 6 years.
