Excessive bleeding 6 months after giving birthFrom: angel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Nov 2002 19:32:41 -0600 (CST)
I started my monthly cycle yesterday, but this morning at 5:00 I awoke to go feed the baby. I felt clots and more clots. Once I got him fed, I had to put him down, and I was bleeding all over the place. I thought just a heavy period. So I put in a tampon, and filled it in an hour. I have just filled another one in an hour. I super absorbency one at that. There is no way it could be a miscarriage, because we ahve been using protection, but I remember my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and I do not remember losing this much all at one time. Anyway, Sorry for TMI. What do you all think? I now have gone through 9 of them in 9 hours. I have called my OB and he said it was completely normal for a breastfeeding mother. I am 5.5 months postpartum and have been menstruating for 4 months.
