NOR-QD Side EffectsFrom: Spacey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Nov 2002 14:31:58 -0600 (CST)
I started taking Nor-qd on the first day of my period as indicated insert provided with the pills. How long should you be on the pill before totally relying on it as the only form of contraceptive? I have heard various opinions. The insert says 48 hours. I called the manufacturer and spoke to a pharmacist and she said 7 days. My concern is that I was on the pill on 7 days and did not use any other form of protection. Should I be concerned? If so, Are you fertile immediately following your period? According to most ovulation calendars I looked at I was not fertile, but there are a few that say I could have been. After three weeks of being on the pill, I have discontinued use due to severe constipation. Now I am cramping really badly. Should I be getting my period any day now or should it come its normal time? I have also noticed extreme discharge since taking the pill. Is that another side effect?
