ASCUS Pap result...have questionsFrom: Lynn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 13 Nov 2002 14:44:40 -0600 (CST)
I had a pap done last month that came back ASCUS. Now..I know from my MD and from the archives that this is nothing to worry about and that I need a re-check in 6 months. I was told by my gyno that has checked me before for HPV and I was negative however, if this ASCUS is because of infection...what will waiting 6 months do? Don't all infections need to be treated? Can atrophy cause this a ASCUS result as well? I also have had a yellow discharge at ovulation for the past 2 years. Last years pap was normal while having the discharge. They have cultured this yellow discharge now 4 times and nothing comes of it (no chlymidia, bacteria etc). Thanks, Lynn
