Weight gain is a symptom of hypothyroid, so you probably should have
your thyroid levels checked to make sure that you don't need your
synthroid dose to be increased. Also, besides synthroid there is also
Armour thyroid, which comes from pig thyroid. Some people do better on
Armour, some better on synthroid. The Armour isn't as profitable for
the drug companies so it doesn't get advertised, but it might be worth
some experimentation.
