Dr. Daniel Braun kindly replied previous EMail ("The main concern should be for endometrial cancer. The curettage should say something about that or something like proliferative endo, or hyperplasia or something but not "bleeding in womb" ???????????? The 2 cm endometrium is not normal").

Thanks - however critical question for me remains. At last comsultation advised ultrasound, curettage and laparoscopy/ hysteroscopy presented no further evidence- no 'evidence of cancer'. However because symptoms and age - safest route is hysterectomy. Seems big step purely as cautionary move!. Why did I have functional cyst year after menopausal, & FSH & LH levels now showing not menopausal.

MRI (CAT) scan abdomen and womb(?) & results to further blood tests due tomorrow. Unless questions answered, have to decide whether to have hysterectomy.

Summary to-date: 54 'healthy' woman, no kids!. Last year I was menopausal. No periods for year and even some hot flushes. This August light period(?) followed by watery vaginal bleeding which stopped after couple of weeks. Since September (8 weeks now) light bleeding again - seems to come out when I pass urine, but has been confirmed from the womb.

Test results: Uterus enlarged, 10cm longtitudinal dimension. 5.9 cm fibroid in fundal region. Endometrial lining fairly homogeneous, with well demarcater border, but appears thickened max thickness of 1.5cm. Rt Ovary normal in size & appearance. Lt ovary contains 2.5cm unilocular cyst could be functional cyst (now gone - so it was!!). No free fluid or space occupying lesion in pelvic capacity".

Blood test revealed ovarian tumour marker (150). 2001 blood test showed LH 58.6, FSH 96.2 ("definitely menopausal), yet Sept 2002 LH7.9, FSH 21.1 ("not menopausal").
