I am 12 weeks postpartum (c-section) and breastfeeding. My period returned at 8 weeks postparturm. Since then, I have had my period three separate times in the past four weeks. It seems to return everytime I slow down on breastfeeding. If I go more than 5 hours without feeding, my period comes back. I occasionally add formula to breastmilk, as I have just returned to work and my baby seems to be eating more than I can keep up with. Prior to becoming pregnant, I always had very regular, very light periods. Now they are very heavy and irregular. I thought menstruation was not supposed to resume until I stopped breastfeeding.
