Reply: BJ: "Re: do you have to have hormone therapy after a hysterectomy? please answer..." my mother had a hysterectomy aprx. 8 years ago. but they left an ovary (partial hysterectomy?) shouldn't she be taking some kind of hormones? she says she can't because she is alergic to them. but when i asked her how she could be allergic to something her body was already making she told me to sut up because i didn't know what i was talking about. if she started taking hormones would she not have so many mood swings? or would they get worse? or since she has an ovary still does that mean she is fine and doesn't need to take anything?
