If you use real progesterone, not a synthetic progestin, in a dose
equivalent to what your body would be making, there are no side effects.
It is progesterone that regulates the luteal phase. The topical cream
is the best way to supplement as the oral forms are a very high dose and
make the dosing hard to control.
