pelvic painFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 31 Oct 2002 08:26:58 -0600 (CST)
For several months now, I have been having constant pains on my sides. The doctor put me on birth control to ease the pain. The birth control helps with regular menstral pain, but not with this sharp constant pain (especially when I press, even just slightly, on my sides). Sometimes the pain is so severe I may be vomiting and won't be able to move because the pain would feel like someone is stabbing me. Sometimes the pain would get even worse and start on my sides (especially the right side) then move from the ribcage down to the pelvis. I had a pap smear and it came out normal besides: minor change is cell possibly due to yeast or bacteria vaginosis, etc. This period seemed pretty normal but the last one was extremely clotty (handfulls!) I have a thick, clear whitish yellowish discharge ( I don't think this is abnormal) and no itching or burning. What could this possibly be from and what test sould I get? I am 18 and not sexually active.
