During my 20's and 30's I had the clear jelly-like substance between my periods and have understood from literature that it's a normal part of the fertility cycle each month. Now it is brownish and a little more thinned. Is this because I am older and approaching menopause? I still have regular periods. I have herpes and have not been sexually active for 3 years.
