1 ovary removed and hormones lowFrom: Any (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 29 Oct 2002 12:45:40 -0600 (CST)
Do you think that it is a possibiity that when you have only one ovary and tube removed that your hormones can be affected? I know that most doctors insist that the other ovary will produce enough hormones, but I was just informed by telephone from my doctor that my hormones are low shown from blood tests. I have an appt. later this week to go over these results and which hormones are low. My right ovary and tube were removed 4 years ago when I was 24 years old. My doctors insisted that I was to young to have hormone tests run after the surgery because of complications that I had, that I believe was caused by the removal. The # 1 issue I have had since the surgery is ANXIETY! I can't stress how hard it is to live with anxiety. Not to mention the headaches, hot flashes, and depression along with anxiety. I have nothing going on in my life to explain the anxiety, and frustrated that doctors will not even consider that my hormones were and still are affected wven though I still have one ovary left. Please give your honest opinion as to what this means to you. Very frustrated.
