As long as the pill is taken correctly...same time each day, not missing any pills, it is over 99% effective in preventing pregnancy.

Condoms are a safety net and should always be used to protect against STD's. We say this to women about men, and the reverse is true too....a person can say they are a virgin, but that doesn't mean it is true. You need to protect yourself as well againist STD's which include the incurable ones such as Herpes, and even the deadly one, AIDS.
