Endometriosis treated with RaloxifeneFrom: Ilene (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 Oct 2002 01:56:03 -0600 (CST)
My doctor has suggested I take raloxifene to reduce my endometriosis growth. I have stage 4 endo with many adhesions particularly in the cul de sac. At this point I refuse to have a hysterectomy, and do not agree that it is the cure all for this disease. and while I have been told I am infertile I would like to still try to have a family (not while on Raloxifene of course) While I have researched Raloxifene, I don't quite understand how it can reduce the growth of the endo. Also I can find a lot of info on raloxifenes effects on postmenopausal women but I am concerned about the effects it will have on me a premenopausal woman at age 33. Any info to help me with this decision would be helpful.
