LONG Menstruation after LONG Lapse

I am 32 years old. I was on the pill for 10 years when I went off last year because of excess weight, blood pressure problems and an irregular LFT. I also wanted to clear my body of the hormones so in case I ever did want to have kids I could. Herein lies the problem.

I had relatively normal periods from November 2001 through April 2002. Then I did not have another period until early September. The time between that period and my current period was approximately 5 weeks. Now this one has been going since approximately October 8 2002. I am almost three weeks into this and headed into the fourth.

I notice a lot of other advice states to have a D&C for really long periods. Would the same advice follow in my case? Or is my body just completely wacked out after being on the pill for 10 years?

I did have an aborted pregnancy in '91 and STD in '92. Long later effects?? Just wondering. I am a little worried right now.
