Pap Smear Needed to be Reread by Dr.?

I recently had a pap smear and this is the first one every had anything different at all.

I received a bill that had the regular amount, and then an added amount that said it needed to be reread by the physician. I called my Dr. who said the result had been absolutely normal, so I needed to call the lab. The lab said that they charge extra if the doctor instead of a lab technician rereads the results. I could only talk to the person there in billing, since they said any results needed to be discussed with me by my doctor.

I called the doctor's office again, and they said that the results were normal with no added comments so it was nothing.

What could a lab technician see that a doctor would need to reread that would be nothing? Thank you so much for any experiences anyone has had, or for any medical answers.
