Mirena is a great IUD so far, and there is lots of experience world wide. The amount of progestin is tiny, and it acts locally, so no worries about cancer, systemic issues. I would guess the spotting should straighten out in around 2 months, and then you likely will have either normal periods, lighter ones, or none--have to wait and see. Garry
