Metformin causing the problem maybe

I am on only 500 MG of the Metformin. I have been on it for a month now and my last cycle started on the 9th of Sept. and on the 18th I started the Metformin. Well, it's the 15th of Oct now and I haven't yet started my cycle. I called the doctor and she told me that I might be pregnant and to take a pregnancy test, because she didn't think the metformin would cause my cycle to be missed or late. So, I took the pregnancy test and it's negative. So, I called the doctor back and she told me to wait another week and if no cycle, to go in and get a blood test. I am just tired of wasting my money on the pregnancy test and the doctor, when I'm not pregnant. But, I have never missed a cycle before ever. It's always been on every 21 days, which isn't normal...but I always had a cycle. And now, that I'm on Metformin I am not having a cycle for some reason. And what bothers me is that I am supposed to start clomid..but I can't start it until I get a cycle. It can be so frustrating at times. Anyways, thanks for hearing me out.
