Any danger with untreated endometrioma?

Is there any medical danger in not treating endometriosis/endometriomas? I have not found mention of any danger in the medical literature and am therefore on the verge of deciding not to seek treatment, but I wanted to check for information on this forum before I make my decision. Does it depend on the "level" of endometriosis that is found?

In case background is needed (although it is probably not): I was diagnosed with moderately severe endometriosis 8 years ago at age 18 and received surgical and hormonal treatment through college. During that time I was also diagnosed with and treated for an endometrioma. However, I have not seen my specialist or had any exams in a few years. My only treatment has been contraceptive pills (prescribed by another doctor who thankfully did not bother me with an exam). I have experienced a recurrence of symptoms over the past three years but would rather not seek treatment and am planning to discontinue the pills, both because the doctor will no longer prescribe them for me and because I am a virgin.

Thanks much and apologies if there is more info than was needed.
