***Hypothyroidsm***From: S.J. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 11 Oct 2002 07:34:36 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroism 10 years ago and was wondering what exactly causes it. My doctor has told me that sometimes you become hypothyroid without there being any underlying cause, but I don't understand how this can be the case - something has to cause the levels to go awry. What do you think? Thanks Sarah P.S. I've been taking 200mcg Thyroxine and my symptoms are still there - fatigue, intolerance to cold, dry skin, etc. but blood tests are showing normal TSH levels. Any ideas?
