to Dr. William McIntosh: please replyFrom: Nadia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 Oct 2002 16:46:25 -0500 (CDT)
I asked you earlier if you thought i might have gotten the cold sore virus from kissing my boyfriend after the scab fell of his cold sore. You said: Primary infections frequently do have upper respiratory symptoms AS WELL AS the characteristic blisters. If you don't have the blisters, you almost certianly do not have herpes. I don't think you are infected. What about this: The day right before my boyfriends cold sore became visible he performed oral sex on me. What are the chances that i now have genital HSV1? It's been three weeks and i don't have any sores at all. But i read that not all people have to have blisters to have the herpes virus in their body. thank you.
