Irregular periods can also be due to PCOS, where Metformin and other insulin sensitizing drugs can be given to correct the underlying problem. They also have been named in studies to help fight against the advent of diabetes. Weight also can cause irregular periods, losing weight may help. There's more than one cause of irregular periods, and more than one remedy.
