Dear reader,

I am a 15 year old girl and am very worried about my menustration cycle that seems to be quite abnormal this year. I got my first period when i was 13 and have had a regular one month cycle until i started a high-protein and low-carb diet, which i tried for about 5-6 months. It worked well and i lost a lot of weight but during those months my period did not come, for about 4 months. I got scared and immediately went off the diet and my periods came regularly again for about 4-5 months. Now, eventhough i have regular and healthy eating patterns, and am very sure that i am getting the right nutrition and in good amounts, my period has stopped coming again for about 5-6 months. I have not ever been involved sexually with anyone so i am positive that i am not pregnant. I am very worried about this abnormality because my breasts are hardly developed eventhough i am very tall and have great hips and a nice figure. I have not cut out carbs from my diet this whole year and my periods only returned for a while. Please help me on this, and if you can give me some info on the causes and cures for this i would be delighted. I am embarassed to talk to my doctor because she is my aunty and is not a very secretive person. I am sorry to bother you with this but i am very very worried. Thank you for your co-operation. God Bless.

Cassandra
