Huge adnexal mass

I found out that I have a huge adnexal mass/cyst on the right side. It is 22cm x 18cm x 14 cm. My primary physician has not phoned me since I went in four weeks ago complaining of abdominal discomfort. I took it upon myslef to fax the CT result to my OB/GYN who is on vacation!!!!!!!! I am just frustrated that it is taking so long and I am so uncomfortable and I am worried it is cancer. I have three children and am 36 years old. I have a tubal ligation two years ago upon the birth of my third child. I have had an ultrasound, and a CT scan. Neither one states anything diffinitive and it just says cystic mass. The ultrasound sound said urachal cyst, the CT said adnexal mass. I was supposed to see the general surgeon, I guess for removal, but no one has said anything other than to cancel that appointment twcie because he had to go into emergency surgery. I feel alone and clueless as to what my care should be. Will I possibly need a partial or full hysterectomy? Will the surgery involve inpatient? How long will my hospital stay be? Should I have a general surgeon perform this or my OB/GYN ( which I have NEVER seen, as my insurance changed on me!)

Please give me any input you can before this stressed out mom can't sleep anymore!

Thank you very much!

Terri
