Re: Dysplasia is back, again!!!!From: Maggie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 4 Oct 2002 16:53:28 -0500 (CDT)
Thank you Mel! Would be very good if we can share some of this unpleasant experience and hopefully we can learn how to protect ourselves better. I will definitely ask for copies of my file and look for a second opinion, I probably have to pay for it but it doesn’t matter. This particular doctor who did the colposcopy wasn’t in favor of Thin Pap but I will get it done somewhere else. Mel, Do you go to your normal GP (family doctor) to perform your Pap Smears and Thin Paps or not? Just like you I wasn’t aware of this HPV virus until recently in fact in 93 (I had my treatment) I was told that the cause of this is unknown and ironically I don’t fall into so called “high risk women” group so no solid explanation!!!. I guess just unlucky!!! Tell me a bit more about LEEP procedure (is it better then laser treatment) I am still waiting for my Biopsy results (hopefully by Friday) you can imagine what I think they could be!!!
