Susie,

I'm not a doctor, but I think you should have the discharge tested to see exactly what it is- it sounds like bacterial vaginitis. A gynecologist would do this test. Metrogel doesn't always work and the gyn would be more familiar with treating persistent vaginitis than a GP would. Sometimes the ph of the vagina is not acidic enough. It's probably not the ovarian cyst, which is not necessarily present now.

I had the same problem and used 2 courses of Cleocin, after Metrogel failed to clear it completely. I also occasionally use a vinegar and water douche to keep it from starting again.
