Can endometriosis bring on perimenopause?From: M.K. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 Oct 2002 10:57:49 -0500 (CDT)
I just turned 36 and have stage 1 endometriosis dxd via laproscopy a year ago. During the past year I have been experiencing symptoms of perimenopause: irregular cycles, chronic fatigue, weight gain (25 lbs), decreased libido, scalp problems, headaches, and hot flashes at night. No they're not night sweats because I don't sweat, just feel hot and flushed. I've had my thyroid levels checked several times, always normal. My estrogen is rather low, but still barely within normal levels. FSH level was middle of the range. Is there anything I can do for the symptoms? I've tried birth control pills, but they only add more PMS symptoms and don't help at all.
