Hep B has nothing to do with HPV. Also blood is screened for Hep B before it is allowed to enter the blood bank. Hep B can be transmitted through blood or other bodily fluids - it is very easily transmitted - musch easier than HIV. Hep B can survive on outside surfaces for 48 hours. Does he work in the healthcare field? Was he diagnosed as a result of seeing a doctor from being ill? Lots of times Hep B can just resolve and cause no complications - through a test will show if a person has ever had Hep B. The same test can show if a person has active Hep B, or if they are a carrier of the virus. Only people that are carriers of the virus, or have an active infection can transmit the virus. Sounds like you and your husband need to sit down with your healthcare provider and try to get some more information so that you are better informed.
