I gave birth to my 3rd child via csect (3rd csect) in jan 2001. My periods from that time till today have been quite irregular. ON average i have my period 2.5 weeks a month sometimes as much as a total of 3weeks. Most of the time i have a period for 2weeks it stops for 3 days only to repeat the cycle. The bleeding is quite heavy clots and varying color.I have lower abdominal pain sometimes more so than others but almost always there.5 months ago pap came back as ASCUS AGUS, Urinalysis normal, vaginal bacteriology +1 flora isolated, virology neg. Dr began me on bcp and nsaids for pain, bleeding which have done nothing. We did ultrasound it was noted my uterus has a bulky appearence and is enlarged, Dr says to 10week pregnancy size,. Dr feels i have adenomyosis and a very slight possibility of a cancer due to the agus. Endo biopsy was normal : Endometrial secretions. Dr told me since bcp's and nsaids have done nothing next step is a hysterectomy. Which is scheduled for 10/1. Dr wanted to do a colposcopy but i cant seem to stop flowing. I am having a total abdominal hyster and left ovary removal, consent given to remove rt if it is unhealthy. I will be 31 end of oct, is this a normal procedure for my findings ? what other than adenomyosis could be going on?I had thyroid cancer it has been under control for 5 years removed surgically 10yrs ago. My tsh is close to 0,synthroid .250. I greatly appreciate any advice or info. I want to feel better but want to make sure it is the right choice and not one i will look back on or find another alternative. Thank you
