Recovery from HysterectomyFrom: Apan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 26 Sep 2002 13:57:49 -0400
My wife is 62+ years old and she is scheduled for hysterectomy. Her Doctor will do a procedure this Friday to scrape cyst from her ovaries even though eventually she will have hysterectomy. Questions are with the assumption the surgery would be without complications: * What is the recovery period after the surgery? * Will she be restricted from her normal life after the surgery? If so for how long? She is in good health, except the age factor and this complication. We’re planning to travel for a few months starting at the end of November. We like to know whether or not the surgery should be done now or later. You may ask why don’t we ask her Doctor these questions. I did and unfortunately, she is not responding. I have to know now. If time permits, I like her to have the surgery done before we leave so that she will have a worry free trip. An early response will be highly appreciated. Sincerely, Apan Basu, PE A. B.
